With a signature jewelry collection inspired by the wonders found in the universe, David Yurman has been selected to custom design the official crew pin for the historic Ax-1 mission. Using a 4-billion-year-old Gibeon meteorite, many of the designer’s pieces are composed of an iron-nickel alloy and each of the one-of-a-kind pins is framed by this same material that fell to earth nearly 30,000 years ago. Showcasing interwoven bands of kamacite and taenite, these crystalline structures cannot be found on the planet and therefore hold a symbolic meaning to the Ax-1 mission and its connection to earth and space.
